I know, i know. I haven't been here in awhile. I have a lot of updating to do!!
In the meantime whilst you eagerly await all that mess (hahahaa), here is a pattern for a snowflake i created today while adding to my piles and piles of holiday crafting that i've been working on for the past week or so:)

using a size 7 hook and #10 thread:
Ch 8, sl st to join.
SC in ring; *Ch 6, sl st in 3rd Ch from hook,
Ch 5, sl st in 5th Ch from hook,
Ch 7, sl st in 7th Ch from hook,
Ch 9, sl st in 9th Ch from hook,
Ch 7, sl st in 7th Ch from hook and base of 1st Ch7 picot,
Ch 5, sl st in 5th Ch from hook and base of 1st Ch 5 picot,
Ch 3, sl st in 3rd Ch from hook and base of 1st Ch 3 picot,
Sl st down 3 Ch,
SC in loop, Ch 6, sl st in 3rd Ch from hook, Ch 3, SC in loop*
repeat from * to * to create 6 points of each (large and small) type, sl st into first SC, fasten off.
Use your preferred stiffening method to block and allow to dry.
